I require a deposit to book and lock the date for your trip. I charge $100.00 deposit. You may pay by check or use PayPal for this. To cancel and get your deposit you must call me personally two weeks before the trip. If you cancel 48 hours before the trip and I can’t rebook the date, your deposit will be forfeited. If you’re a NO SHOW or last minute cancellation, your deposit will be forfeited and you will be charged for the full trip. Rebooking trips at the last minute is hard to do and this policy will insure your date or my loss of a trip.
We accept cash or Check to pay deposit or pay in full. Currently we do not accept any electronic payments, sorry!
If thunderstorms with lightning or winds over 30 mph are forecast for all day and we can’t rebook or wait out the storm, your deposit will be refunded. If the air temp is below 32 degrees with ice and/or freezing rain, your deposit will be refunded. The guide has the right to make the call for cancellations. For conditions other than listed above, if you want to make the call to not fish or end the trip sooner than expected, no refund will be due. On the day of your trip, be prepared to fish; bring a rain suit and warm clothes; layering is best as you can add or remove layers to keep warm or cool.
We provide Lew’s reels, St Croix rods, boat, gas, ice, tackle, and adult life jackets (children will need to bring a life jacket that fits them; by state law they will need to wear the life jacket at all times while in the boat). I will pick you up at your resort or place of lodging if in the Lake Ozark, Osage Beach and Camdenton, MO area. I will also clean your fish and bag them for you.
The first thing you will need is a Missouri fishing license, if between 16 to 65 years of age; you can go online to Missouri Department of Conservation website here or purchase them at most bait shops in the area, or Walmart. Other items you will need are a rain suit, warm clothes (layering is best), food, drinks, sunscreen, sunglasses (polarized are best), and a camera. If you prefer to use your own equipment (rods and tackle) please notify me so I can advise you on what we may be doing that day….you don’t need a lot of tackle that the fish aren’t biting, or rods and reels that may not be appropriate for the type of fishing we will be doing that day.
For group trips, please allow about three weeks notice in order to contact other guides. We need a date that you want to go, how many people, and what you wish to fish for. We charge a $100.00 booking fee on top of our rates. We contact and use only USCG licensed guides so you will be in good hands and have guides that know the lake and know how to fish it. Five days before the trip we will nee a final count of people going on the trip. That number will be what your bill is based on. Trips are based on two people to a boat but three can go for an additional $75.00 on top of the daily rate charge. I will need a deposit of $100.00 for each boat needed to hold the date for the additional guides. After the five day deadline if there are cancellations or some in the group don’t show, the full trip rate will be charged; this pays the guides for a trip they can’t rebook at such late notice.
We start most of the time early in the morning as the bite is best at that time. In the summer time I sometimes book two 4 hour trips a day – an early morning trip and an afternoon trip, so please be on time and ready to go fishing. In spring and summer I book night trips for bass and crappie, these trips are for four or six hour trips only.
